Introducing a new tangle: Meji

On today’s Tangle Time sessions, we are premiering another wonderful tangle by Debbi Minero, Meji (pronounced Meh-hee. It’s so fun to share her work because it’s beautiful and usually have tons of ways to embellish or decorate.

Here is what Debbi said about how she came to creating this tangle: “I received a beautiful bag made from the most gorgeous material, handpicked and handmade just for me. The beautiful soul who gifted this to me knows my passion for tangling and my favorite colors. I just knew I had to sit down today and deconstruct two of the patterns on the bag, my way. Meji (Meh-hee) and Mysons were born.)

Stay tuned for our Premier of Mysons.

This time, I’m going to share her finished work first. It’s just so gorgeous!!! She adds some Mooka fronds and Fescu to Meji.

I know you want to give it a try! Here’s how to do it:

Introducing a new tangle: DahllyLite

On today’s Tangle Time sessions, we are premiering another wonderful tangle by CZT Alyssa Herget.

Introducing DahllyLite! Here is the story from Alyssa:

“The original tangle I was working on was playing with the Holly Leaves from the tangle Meriberries that we did. I ended up putting them in a circle, like how this started, and I kept blooming it outward. It kept going after this step, and turned into a beautiful flower that looked close to the Dahlia flower. So I combined Dahlia + Holly to come up with Dahlly. This version is DahllyLite, since we stop early. The pronunciation of “Dahlly” sounds like “Dolly” which is also what my dad used to call me when I was growing up, so it’s a bit of a nod to him as well. :)”

Alyssa and I were chatting about this tangle and it looked so much like a snowflake at step 6, Alyssa created this Lite version for our Winter Snowflakes class. Thank you, Alyssa!!! The full tangle will be premiered later.

When you post your work, make sure to use #dahllylite and tag Alyssa. If you are on Instagram, make sure to follow @alydoodleCZT while you are there!

Introducing a new tangle: Chygerr

On today’s Tangle Time sessions, we are premiering another wonderful tangle by Sandy Vaughan AKA The Irish Tangler.

Introducing Chygerr! Here is the story from Sandy:

“So this one is called Chygerr. I saw a tiktok video of a chubby tiger, and tigers are one of my favourite animals. Well, this big chubby tiger must have stuck in my mind because one day I found myself drawing a stripey pattern over and over on a blank page and then filling the stripes with various tangles. At first they were straight, but then I found myself curving the stripes, drawing them in different directions, and graduating the sizes and then liking that so much more. The five curved stripes also reminds me of a tiger’s sharp claws. Why I call it chygerr is because it’s an amalgamation of the two words chubby + tiger!

When you post your work, make sure to use #chygerr and tag Sandy. If you are on Instagram, make sure to follow @theirishtangler while you are there!

Introducing a new tangle: Louroll

On today’s Tangle Time sessions, we are premiering another wonderful tangle by Sandy Vaughan AKA The Irish Tangler, Louroll.

This is what Sandy said about her inspiration for Louroll:

“So the inspiration for my new tangle Louroll comes from the wrapping on our luxury quilted toilet paper from Andrex!! Once you know zentangle you start to see tangle patterns everywhere don’t ya?! I’ve included a close up of the wrapper. So, Irish people call the toilet the “loo”, and we call toilet paper “loo roll”. Since it’s my sister’s Louise’s birthday this weekend, I’m dedicating this tangle to her and calling it Louroll, and I think she’ll find the name connection very amusing!!
