Zentangle® Special Session: Waybop

Waybop is a fun tangle that is also a string or a structure in which you can tangle within. It also allows for some really neat tangleations (variations, tangle style). We had A LOT of fun with this. Check out the pictures below.

Thanks to everyone that sent pictures in!! Here is what I’ve received and taken from the FB group – They all are TRULY AMAZING!!! Click on any picture to enlarge.

Zentangle® Tangle Time: Antidots & Finery

If you are looking for a tangle that helps you with meditation or to get into a mindful state, look for tangles with minimal numbers of strokes. Antidots, by CZT Anita Roby-Lavery is one such tangle. Rocking from left to right, start a new one, rinse and repeat! Creating a piles, stacks, or lines, whichever way you see fit to place them. Also, feel free to decorate these as you will see in the pictures below.

Finery, a Zentangle® Original Tangle, is the second tangle we looked at today. This one is beautiful! It has an organic, wavy quality. This one provides is a tad more challenging in relation to Antidots. Following the step-outs carefully, one step at a time, you can do it!!

Tangle Time: Fife

Fife is such a neat tangle and we had great fun with it on Jan 7, 2021 – Our first full Tangle Time of the new year. This starts as a grid of dots that can be looked at 2 ways – a straight grid where you see squares, but then also if you turn your tile or paper 45 degrees, it looks offset. Molly, from Zentangle®, Inc, talks about it in THIS newsletter edition where Fife was introduced. This is essentially 2 tangles in one step-out. If you stop at step 4 in my step out, you get more of the flower look. Click here for more pictures from the Zentangle® blog.

Tangles with minimal numbers of strokes are great and easy to remember! This one starts with a dot grid and is made up of curved lines connecting the dots, creating seeds. I find doing one side of the seed, then flipping my tile/paper and doing the other side makes them more consistent because my curved lines are all being drawn in the same direction.

I love that while we are all looking at the same step-outs (instructions) everyone adds in their own style and creativeness. We look at each other’s work for extra inspiration and ideas.

Tangle Time: Dex

Sometimes, I’m just in the mood for a little 3-D, Optical Illusion (Op Art) tangling fun. Tangle Time Dec 24, 2020 was just the time for it, so we explored the tangle, Dex by Zentangle®. Maybe I was hungry while tangling, but to me, these look a bit like waffles! hahaha!

The thing about Zentangle is that while we are all looking at the same step-outs (instructions) everyone adds in their own style and creativeness. This makes for endless ideas! Look at the fun everyone had with this!!

Tangle Time: Mysteria and Quib

After a super fun Tangled Monograms Class, I decided that it would be fun to further explore the tangle, Quib, as I had tossed that tangle in at somewhat the last minute and I only gave an overview of it. So this week (Dec, 17, 2020), we looked at Quib, and knowing it wouldn’t take to long to do, I had to pair it with something… so I decided to also explore Mysteria.

The results ended up quite festive, AMAZING!!! My favorite comment from the Tangle Addicts Community Facebook Group was “Million Orb Challenge” hahahaha! That it was!!!! Here are the screenshots:
